Act 5
Act 5
Scene 1:
The scene starting with Romeo having a happy dream that Juliet kisses him. But soon later, Balthasar comes and tells Romeo that Juliet is dead and he sees she was lying on the Capulet tomb. After Romeo hears that, he asks some horses to Balthasar, and finds a drug seller and addresses “I will lie with thee tonight.” He buys poison and heads off to Verona.
Scene2: Friar Lawrence sends Friar John to tell Romeo the plan about Juliet’s fake death, but it fails. He writes another letter to Romeo, and rushes off to get Juliet from the tomb.
I think Scene 1 and 2 are the important parts of the plot which leads to Romeo’s death. I feel so bad about Balthasar that if he does not tell anything to Romeo, the ending might be different. Because he tells Romeo that Juliet dies, Romeo leaves to get poison, and I felt really anxious during reading that part. Through seeing that Romeo tries to kill himself after he hears that Juliet dies, I could definitely see his strong love toward Juliet and how much he loves her. The scene 1 and 2 are heading to the ending of the novel, which is the death of both Romeo and Juliet.
