Each picture of Amanda, Tom, and Laura show their own personalities. Amanda serves food to Jim at the dinner while wearing the yellow dress, in order to make him fall in love with Laura and have a marriage. She always cares about Laura, since she is different with other girls; one of her biggest hopes is hopeless Laura to marry a man who can sincerely support and take care of her. Furthermore, Amanda often fights with Tom since each of them has a strong differing opinion. They conflict while Tom hating his life since he should give up his dream to earn money, and Amanda keeps persuading him to work and support his family. Tom likes writing and adventure, but his actual life and the reality is like darkness without hope or future. He goes to the warehouse everyday, smokes, and fights with his mom. Also, there is the biggest confliction occurring between Tom and Amanda, because Amanda gets really mad as Tom invited a man in dinner who has already been engaged with another woman. After the fight, Tom leaves home. Laura is a terribly shy girl who has no job and usually stays in the home. Since she has a crippled leg, she loses her confidence and barely tries to approach a man who she likes. She likes to collect glasses, and glass menagerie represents everything in her whole life.
