in class writing

After watching through my classmates' performances and acting for my performance, I felt poem is so abstracted that everyone can read and interpret it differently and apply to their own ways. I could see everyone has a different interpretation since each person described its poem through different form such as singing, reciting, adding movements, using different lights and background music. I think Lesley and Nan’s performances were stunning since they chose song which was quite different with others. Through watcing others’, I realized props and background song could be really important as much as facial expression and body gestures. Body movements and facial expression would definitely be the most significant things since actors use those to describe their emotions and the situation. However, background music also creates the mood of the environment and become one of the important sources on the stage. Props also help audience to better understand the relationship between character and the intention of author.
