During the book, I was able to notice Romeo and Juliet’s different personalities and characters through their dialogues or actions they showed.
Shakespeare firstly introduces about Romeo in scene one; after the servants from Montagues and Capulets have a confliction, the montague family asks Benvolio where Romeo is, then Romeo firstly appears in the book in a somber, strange mood. When a somber Romeo finally appears, Benvolio asks Romeo about the source of his gloom and melancholy, and Romeo responds that he is pining for a woman named Rosaline. After reading the conversation between Benvolio and Romeo, I realized that Romeo is really emotional and romantic person who cares about love and relationship a lot. Through Romeo saying “ To call hers, exquisite, in question more. These happy masks that kiss fair ladies’ brows, Being black, puts us in mind they hide the fair. He that is strucken blind cannot forget the precious treasure of his eyesight lost. What doth her beauty serve but as a note Where I may read who passed that passing fair? Farewell. Thou canst not teach me to forget.” I could see Romeo using a lot of metaphors and dramatic words to express his emotions and love toward the Rosaline which made me to notice about Romeo as an affectionate and sensitive person who spends lot of emotion in loving or forgetting about one person. I was also able to learn that Romeo is a person who can easily be attracted by woman’s beauty through his reaction and dialogues during the conversation between him and Benvolio, and the reaction after he saw Juliet in the party. I liked Romeo’s personality that he being such a romantic person who can sincerely love woman and reveal his emotion toward Rosaline to other people, but I also felt sympathy to Romeo for not being able to forget about a woman who he really loves, because I had a same experience with Romeo before that I spent a lot of time forgetting about one boy who was not interested at me at all.

Compare to Romeo, Juliet has introduced later in the scene 3. The third scene starts when Lady Capulet asks nurse to find Juliet before the masquerade starts; when Romeo appears, Lady Capulet asks how does Juliet think about marriage and tries to convince her that marriage is a usual thing in her age in order to persuade Juliet to marry with Paris. However, through Juliet saying “I’ll look to like, if looking liking move. But no more deep will I endart mine eye. Than your consent gives strength to make it fly.”, she reveals her emotion toward Paris that she has no mind to deeply fall in love with him. Through the conversation between Lady Capulet and Juliet, I could definitely see their gap and mind different; Juliet was much more serious and conservative about her marriage and treat it as a spiritual quality while her mom treated marriage as a economic and sexual concerns. I liked Juliet's personality a lot, because she seemed really serious about her future and she was not a person who's measuring the important events in the life like marriage as the benefits, like her mom Lady Capulet. Also I quite admire her, because although she is only 14 years old, she thinks more deeply and maturely than Lady Capulet.

Personally, I like both Romeo and Juliet, because they are both thoughtful and maturely thinking about their love and marriage. I could notice Romeo treats love as a serious emotion during his conversation with Benvolio and his reaction toward Rosaline, and I also could realize how does Juliet treats about her marriage seriously through the dialogue between her and Lady Capulet.
Even though they were still young and inexperienced, I could definitely see their matured and sophisticated minds about their future and love.
