Welcome to my blog!:)
Hi! My name is Jasmine Jung living in Cheshire, Connecticut. I am attending Cheshire Academy as a junior. Now I am living at Hurley hall, but before I came to the states, I was living in Bundang, South Korea. Bundang is not a capital, but one of newest cities next to Seoul. In my home, I have 4 members of the family; there are me, mom, dad, and my younger brother. When I was in Korea until 14, I was attending art school. I took a fine art major classes to improve my artistic skills and to study art knowledge which is my most favorite. But then, I decided to come to America to study more widely and focus more on learning English rather than improving my art skill in Korea.

For me, the things most significant are art and fashion. Since I was in primary school, I thought that I would like to be the greatest artist. So I prepared for a year to get into famous art middle school in Korea. After I became a middle school student, I had a lot of chance to try new art materials and approach to amazing friends and teachers who had similar dreams with me. During I was learning art professionally at my middle school, my dream has changed from artist like Van Gogh to Fashion designers like Coco Chanel or Giorgio Armani. My life won't be completed without art and my passion for drawing, and I will keep challenging to reach my dream someday.

The other most important thing to me is my friends. I think the time we spend with friends will take half of our lives. As I spend plenty time with them, they mean everything to me. When I have some concerns or when I feel depressed, the one who can comfort me most was always my best friends. Honestly, friends are even more helpful than my parents sometimes, because they know me really well and they can really understand more than my family. I have a friend called Clara who I met 8 years ago in primary school. Since that time, we became a best friend and our friendship lasts until now; I am telling all my concerns or happy things to her first and ask her to give me advice sometimes. We treat each other like sisters, not just friends. Being best friends does not only mean that being close people near me, but it also means becoming a sister or advisor to me.

Furthermore, I love to traveling elsewhere. Traveling makes me feel like throwing all the pressure away and deviate from all the difficulties in my life. Actually, it is one of the essential things that motivates me to work harder. Even a travel plan becomes a motivation to study hard sometimes because just planning for the travel brings me energy and vitality. Since I was young, my parents took me to a lot of different countries to let me experience other countries' variety of cultures and environments. Still now, I go to different countries at least twice a year to find new places and experience their cultures.

I chose Ms. Guarino's IB Literature&Performance because this class was more special than other normal English classes. If other classes just read the book and write a paper about it, this class reads book little bit slower but makes us to actually act and perform so that we can completely understand the content of the book. Also, I thought it would be so much fun if I actually become one of the characters in the book and act with my friends. As I love performancing and this is my first time to take this class, I expect my junior year will be more special !!
