Edwidge Danticat

Edwidge Danticat is a Haitian American author, his works focus on the lives of women and their relationships. She also talks about the issues of power, injustice, and poverty. She moved to America when she was 4 years old, but she had some difficulties due to her Creole language and Haitian dress and manners. As a way to escape the unpleasant situation, she wrote some stories. She graduated from Barnard College in new york city, then she started to write book that accounted about the relationship between several generations of Haitian women, which was known as Breath, Eyes, Memory. After that, she published other books called Krik?Krak! and Farming Bones. These books were mostly about the life of Haitians. Danticat received numerous honours, including the Pushcart short story prize and awards from magazines. She also penned the 2010 essay collection Create Dangerously: The Immigrant Artist at Work.
