The story of Children of the Sea and Night women are both based on the parenthood and show the relationship between father, daughter, and mother, son. In Children of the Sea, the daughter(female writer) could not understand his father at first that he removed all the tapes from her lover, male writer. But then she saw her father sacrificed himself by selling all of his land and properties to save her daughter from getting accused by the government. After knowing his sacrifice and love, she attempted to show her love toward his father by saying "I told papa that I love you. I don't know if it will make a difference. I just want him to know that I have loved somebody in my life."
The story of Night women is also based on the relationship between mother and son, parenthood. The anonymous mother sacrifices herself to support a family; she devotes through working as a prostitute at midnight, in order to support son's better education and background. However, at the same time, she attempts to hide her job from her son in order to protect his innocence. All of her devotion and sacrifice could be made based on her love for the son. While she smoking after the night work, she says "I thank the stars that at least I have the days to myself." The line shows her difference with normal women and a sense of loneliness that she suffers while having her job. Furthermore, it indicates the strong love from mom toward the son.
