poets that you have studied used such visual and auditory aspects as these to enrich their poems?
In Emily Dickinson's poem, there are a lot of visual and auditory aspects that were highlighted. The words and line structure she used have provided some kind of visual imagination and rhyme scheme which made the audience to feel interested while reading down. Actually visual and auditory effects are the most important factors of a poem, therefore most of the poets use those two strategies to highlight their poems. For example, in the poem I'm nobody who are you, Dickinson used lot of visual effects through highlighting the difference between nobody and somebody; he further focused on some auditory effects by choosing words like Frog and Bog. Since they finish with -og, they create a pattern and rhythm of the lines. Furthermore, the lines like "And sweetest- in the Gale- is heard" or "That could abash the little bird" create a strong sense of visualization by making us imagine the scenes of the poem. Dickinson is also known for not using a proper poem structure; for example, he uses dash very often even when it's not proper to use. Like "And never stops - at all -" and "And sweetest - in the Gale - is heard -", by using dashes, he makes his own unique structure.
